FREEDOM ENCOUNTERS
In 2008 we were experiencing a great spiritual struggle within our congregation. The Bible teaches that our battle “is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”(Ephesians 6:12). The Spiritual Warfare we encountered presented itself in the form of ministering to a severe Satanic Abuse victim.
Rev. David Fisher sought help from God, and it came in the form of Freedom Encounters ministry. Founded by Ken Thornberg of Boise, Idaho the resources that he and his wife Sylvia brought were invaluable. The primary goals of Freedom Encounters ministry are to:
†Minister freedom and inner healing prayer to those suffering from demonic influence/control
†Teach and equip believers to employ the authority of Christ to overcome the power of darkness and to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
†Teach, train, equip, multiply, and send out others to minister Holy Spirit-inspired prayer that enables people to break free from demonic control and to fulfill the Lord’s call/purpose for their lives.
Viewing this as an extension of our vision to be a healing church, a group of us underwent the process and received training to help others. Our teams include people not only from our church but from those who have felt called by God to be a part of this ministry regardless of denominational affiliation.
VICTORY OVER SPIRITUAL CONFLICTS
This is a course taught by Ken and Sylvia Thornberg and regularly facilitated here at Christian Fellowship Church. It provides a scriptural basis for understanding spiritual warfare. The presentation features a 13-hour video seminar plus additional resources and handouts. It is exceptionally comprehensive and life-changing.
Many who have taken part have had their faith increased. They have learned how to exercise spiritual authority given to them by the Lord Jesus Christ and received effective prayers to break the spiritual bondages.
Before receiving a Freedom Encounter we strongly encourage people to take this course. It runs two or three times yearly.
