Our Beliefs

Doctrine

THE HOLY BIBLE -- We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments is the only divinely inspired and infallible revelation of God. It is our only written guide and final authority in matters pertaining to faith and life.

THE TRINITY -- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

JESUS CHRIST -- We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His conception by the Holy Spirit, His birth by the Virgin Mary, His real but sinless humanity, His voluntary humiliation in life as the Man of Sorrows culminating in his substitutionary and atoning death as a sacrifice for sin, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into Heaven as the only and eternal mediator between God and man and His coming again in power and glory.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT -- We believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit through Whom man is born again to saving repentance and faith, and by Whom the saints are sanctified and enabled to live a godly life.

SALVATION -- We believe that the salvation of man is solely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, that the saved partake of eternal life now and will share in that glorious resurrection which is to come.

JUDGMENT -- We believe that man in consequence of the fall is utterly sinful and therefore lost, and the unsaved will be raised for final judgment.

THE CHURCH UNIVERSAL -- We believe in the spiritual unity of all who truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, that is, the only Holy Universal Church, which is the body of Christ.

Being called and enabled by the Holy Spirit as a worshipping congregation, we are prayerfully committed to fulfilling Christ's Commission.

How do we do that?

  • By loving God, each other, and our neighbours, and making Jesus Christ known by what we say and do;

  • Seeking to know and follow our Lord Jesus Christ as we are taught by His Holy word.

  • Sharing the good things that God has given us in service to others near and far.

  • Helping each other to recognize and use the gifts given to each Believer by the Holy Spirit, in service to others.

  • Providing places of fellowship that are safe, nurturing and accepting to all who gather with us in Christ's name.

The Holy Bible

We believe that the Bible alone is the sole and complete revealed word of God, errorless, sufficient for salvation, inspired by the Holy Spirit, the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.

2 Timothy 3:15-17

1 Thessalonians 2:13

TRINITY — We believe that there is one God Creator of all things and Saviour, who has revealed Himself in three distinct persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

JESUS CHRIST — We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His conception by the Holy Spirit, His birth of the Virgin Mary, His real but sinless humanity, His substitutionary and atoning death as a sacrifice for Sin, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into Heaven as the only and eternal mediator between God and man and His coming again in power and glory.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT — We believe that the Holy Spirit is eternally, completely God; that He is a person showing the attributes of intellect, sensibility and will; that He proceeds from the Father and the Son. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service.

SALVATION — Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. We believe that the atoning death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide justification and salvation for all who believe; and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.

THE CHURCH UNIVERSAL — We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.

THE LOCAL CHURCH — We believe each local congregation is a group of baptized professing worshippers, who have organized themselves under leadership to bring glory to the Father through living and proclaiming the whole Gospel of Jesus Christ, being empowered and led by the Holy Spirit. That every local church has the biblical mandate under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
